Franconian hospitality is still very important here and dad food rounds off the whole thing! We were there for the 3rd time ... and it was definitely not the last time

Franconian spaetzle were very good, but unfortunately only a children's portion. CORONA: Unfortunately there is no ventilation in the room. I had to open a window myself. Another guest immediately closed it. The waiter is not wearing a real mask, but a plastic visor. These visors are difficult to clean and are also "Corona ski jumps". Already banned in Austria.

The front dining room is a bit darker, the rear “dining room” is a bit more modern, yet very classically furnished. It's cozy all around, what you would expect in Bavaria. The staff is resolute but friendly, we were there twice and were warmly welcomed on the second visit. Care is taken that you don't have an empty drink in front of you, which was very positive. The food is successful all round, there are trout from local breeding, very fresh and well prepared. Roast pork and sauerbraten were also very good, maybe cooked a tad too long. There is usually a fresh salad with it, which is sometimes good and sometimes less nicely arranged. That varies with the number of guests. You don't have to say anything about the beer, but Aktien Dunkelbier is definitely the favorite.

We felt very comfortable there for several days. We had a large selection of food and drinks available for breakfast. The evening menu left nothing to be desired.

Nice inn in the heart of Pottenstein, very good location for activities of all kinds, I had a small, fine single room, very clean, standard breakfast buffet in the spacious room, space for my motorcycle in the "backyard", Corona rules were implemented, good price / performance ratio ...

The food was awesome! I ate everything one by one. The sauce was extra because the beef fillet and the fried potatoes were too tasty. I'm actually an absolute sauce person!

Absolutely nothing special. Dumplings from the bag, a rolled lump of meat is called a roulade and comes without red cabbage without notice. No excuse, a lousy salad to replace it. Wait staff do not ask if you want anything else. Especially not whether it tasted good, because you probably already know the answer. The prices are still with a decent tourist surcharge. How you can achieve a 4.2 here is a mystery to me. Either the reviews are bought, refer only to the hotel, which I can't rate, or the guests are so undemanding. For us, never again! More than a star, because at least the sauce was very good and the female waitress was friendly and courteous when she showed up.

If you want to be served very nicely and courteously, and want to immediately feel comfortable and welcome, then go somewhere else, for example to the Landgasthof Kapellenhof nearby. In the golden crown, you have to apologize if you don't look at the map right away and want to change places. In general, you as a customer are more of a nuisance than welcome. You would get nothing in front of all the guests, you will be welcomed straight away.

I visited the hotel off season. Not enough hot water the first day. Minimal breakfast buffet. Friendly people and very beautiful location.

Small, quaint family owned restaurant. Food was served fresh and with style.

It seems that in the past year the service quality has taken a dip. Our service constantly forgot parts of the menu (salats, etc...) and the overall impression was lackluster. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. The fries were too salty, as were the forgotten salats. All in all, it would not be my first choice in Pottenstein.
